This Privacy Policy explains how Where is collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the Where is iOS app.

2. Information We Collect
Where is may collect the following information:
- Account information: your backend player ID, nickname, rating, rank, account status, Supporter entitlement status, and Sign in with Apple account link.
- Authentication information: Sign in with Apple identity tokens are sent to our backend for verification. We do not store Apple identity tokens long term. We do not receive or store your Apple ID password.
- Gameplay information: ranked match results, rating changes, round outcomes, disconnect/reconnect state, surrender/technical loss state, and anti-cheat or trust-safety signals needed to protect fair play.
- Purchase information: StoreKit transaction identifiers, product ID, purchase environment, purchase date, and refund/revocation state for the one-time Supporter purchase.
- Analytics information: app flow events such as onboarding, tutorial, training, ranked search, match results, purchase/restore events, and ad display events. We avoid sending raw tokens, Apple identifiers, email addresses, or full names to analytics.
- Diagnostics information: crash and error information, app version, build, device/OS context, and server error metadata needed to debug the app.
- Advertising information: non-gameplay banner ads may be served through Google AdMob for non-Supporter users. Google may collect or process advertising-related identifiers and device data according to its own policies and consent requirements.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- create and secure your account;
- operate ranked matchmaking and realtime gameplay;
- calculate ratings, match history, leaderboards, and penalties;
- verify StoreKit purchases and restore Supporter entitlement;
- show or hide ads based on Supporter status;
- detect abuse, cheating, repeated disconnects, and other unfair behavior;
- analyze app reliability and improve the product;
- respond to support, privacy, and account deletion requests.
4. Third-Party Services
Where is uses third-party services to operate the app:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple and StoreKit purchases.
- Google AdMob: non-gameplay banner ads for non-Supporter users.
- PostHog: product analytics.
- Sentry: crash and error diagnostics.
- Fly.io, Neon, and Upstash: backend hosting, database, and cache infrastructure.
- Cloudflare Pages: hosting for these legal pages.
These services may process information under their own privacy policies.
5. Ads and Purchases
Where is includes non-gameplay banner ads for users who have not purchased Supporter. Supporter is a one-time in-app purchase that removes ads and may show a Supporter badge. Supporter does not provide gameplay advantages, rating boosts, matchmaking priority, or anti-cheat exemptions.
6. Account Deletion
You can delete your account in the app from Profile > Settings > Delete Account. When you delete your account, we revoke active sessions, unlink your Sign in with Apple identity, clear your nickname, and mark the backend profile as deleted.
Some records may be retained or anonymized where needed for match integrity, purchase/refund handling, security, anti-cheat, support, legal compliance, or abuse prevention. Deleted accounts are excluded from public leaderboard/profile surfaces. A Supporter purchase may be restored to a new account after the previous account has been deleted, unless the transaction has been refunded or revoked.
7. Data Retention
We keep account, gameplay, purchase, analytics, and diagnostic data only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, including operating the service, preserving match integrity, processing refunds and purchase restores, preventing fraud or abuse, and meeting legal obligations.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
Where is is a simple skill game, but it is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate permission where required by law. If you believe a child provided personal information that should be deleted, contact us at whereisassist@gmail.com.
10. International Processing
Your information may be processed in countries other than your country of residence. Data protection laws may differ between countries.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when this version became effective.
